First, since most of us operate vehicles, you
probably understand that the proper guidance and signaling of traffic is a
matter of life-and-death. Nobody wants to be held responsible for taking a
human life.
Second, the appropriate design of traffic control results in a better flow of
traffic, and the reduced likelihood of conflict between or among drivers.
It just makes sense. The stakes are extremely high, so you can't afford to
ignore proper traffic control.
Florida Underground Safety Training
specializes in conducting an excellent course of study
leading to the basic or intermediate certification

A worker
who sets up and monitors traffic control
devices on Florida roads must have taken
this course, and must carry proof on the job.
Workers responsible for the inspection of these setups must also have
this Intermediate-level,
FDOT-approved course. Flaggers are
employed to warn drivers of temporary obstructions or to control use
of a single lane roadway. In Florida, Flaggers must also be
certified and carry proof.
